Sermon: Divine Reset 4

Date: Sunday February 4

Text: Ez. 37:5-10

Ezekiel 37:5–10 (ESV) Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

Let’s Connect:

Philippians 3:13–16 (ESV)

13 …But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. 16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

Our redeemed/reformed past has an important and sacred role in our present and the future.

Divine Reset: As we set our hearts in pursuit of the upward call of God: Eradicate, what doesn’t belong, Restore, right and true worship, and Re-Form the past into the present.

The urgent need:

Our mission: to inspire our neighbors to know and follow Jesus by loving broadly and equipping deeply. By…Loving broadly; equipping deeply

How we seek to do this:

Problem of polarization

Our Challenge:

To be a community where people who used to connect with church can love being the church.
