Lean on ME

By Andrew Cascio

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

One of the wisest people in the Bible wrote this, Solomon, son of David. One would think when a wise man gives you advice, you may think it to be something to really think about. Sometimes we can go about life thinking we know it all, we are experts because we’ve been around something and done it for so long, we’ve mastered it!

This isn’t surprising to God, he was the one who gave you that ability, he gave you that knowledge and know how, he put that drive in your heart to push you to greatness. Has it ever happened where you hit a wall and haven’t been able to do something? Did you think to yourself “Why isn’t this working?  I know I can do this!” Then you get aggravated because it’s something so simple and it just isn’t working? Maybe you get flustered or angry at the situation, because you know you’re smarter than that. Take a moment to step back. Say a quick prayer.

Acknowledge that God is your provider, that he has given the the wisdom and abilities to do what you’re able to do, ask him for guidance and help. Turn to him first! Trust in him and not your abilities or what you think you know or don’t know. Take a moment to spend time with him and get your heart right. Sometimes we can look at what’s going on in the world around us, the news, the stock market, or social media. It can put doubt into our lives and create stress and anxiety. Instead of focusing on that, lean on God. He will give you far more than you can get from listening to others.
