Ministry to Homes

In our changing culture, a "home" can have many different structures, for instance, homes which include a single adult, married couples, blended families, single parents, grandparents parenting grandchildren, or a mom and dad in the same or separate households.  Healthy Homes exists to provide functional and spiritual support for homes in our church and our community.

Currently, in our Healthy Homes meetings, we're looking at the concept of being "Disciples in Training," specifically the level of commitment we need to grow in the Lord, and how it parallels the principles found in athletic training.  Please join us for this teaching and discussion-based session.

Healthy Homes meetings take place every Sunday morning, from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM in Room 201.  Pastor Lenny Corliss facilitates these sessions, which include practical teaching, group interaction, and time to connect with others in similar situations.  Building a healthy home is a challenge and we're here to help. Childcare is available in Room 203.

Single? PDF Print E-mail

We want to do our best to help you get connected into our community regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey. Whether you desire to grow spiritually, build meaningful friendships, find opportunities to serve, or simply need the support of other singles, you are welcome. One way to get connected with other singles is through Apple of His Eye, a service ministry of "solo" adults.  Their purpose is to serve through regular missions trips, projects and outreach.  On the first Sunday of every month, they meet at the Portico to go out for lunch right after morning service.  Each first and third Friday night of the month, Apple of His Eye meets in Room 103 at 6:00 PM for Bible study and fellowship.  Other points of connection that are available to you are the "Get Small" venues, including Homelinks, Healthy Homes meetings and Healthy Homes Skills Worskshops.

Healthy Homes Skills Workshops are practical and offer real-world teaching and insights about topics relevant to homes.

You are encouraged to ask questions and engage in group discussion.  Skills Workshops are most commonly held on Wednesday evenings, simultaneous to our youth and children's ministry.  You are invited to join us as we “dig in” to various subjects that directly affect families, marriages and homes, including such topics as skillful parenting, principles of a great marriage, and financial freedom.  Please see the SWC calendar for the next Skills Workshop and register.
